2018 Toyota Corolla versus 2018 Nissan Sentra: Interior Comparison
Both the 2018 Corolla and Sentra offer space to seat up to five occupants. The 2018 Sentra offers a bit more front head room, while the 2018 Corolla offers more rear legroom, shoulder room, and head room. Cargo volume goes to the Sentra with a 15.1 cu. ft. to 13 cu. ft. advantage over Corolla. It's important to note, however, that the 2018 Toyota model does offer a couple more cubic feet of total interior volume than the Nissan.
As far as interior equipment, each comes standard with infotainment display screen, Bluetooth, and other options. The 2018 Corolla and Sentra also provide a wide range of trim levels that allow you to choose from a value priced model all the way up to an incredibly well-equipped version.
In light of all this, we're calling this segment comparison a tie. The 2018 Corolla and Sentra match up equally well in the interior category and neither holds a significant advantage over the other.

2018 Toyota Corolla versus 2018 Nissan Sentra: Exterior Comparison
The 2018 Toyota Corolla and 2018 Nissan Sentra come within an inch or two of each other in length and width. As far as exterior style, some years ago the Sentra would have taken the crown for "looks" in a landslide. That all changed, however, with the redesign of the Corolla during the last decade. Toyota moved away from the historically conservative style on the Corolla to inject some aggressive sporty aspects to it.
Once again, we have a situation where both the 2018 Corolla and Sentra match up well against each other.

2018 Toyota Corolla versus 2018 Nissan Sentra: Technology Comparison
Here's a category where the 2018 Corolla clearly outclasses the 2018 Sentra. Nissan provides only one piece of driver assistance technology as standard equipment on the base model of the Sentra (Automatic Emergency Braking). The 2018 Corolla, on the other hand, comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense P on all trim levels. That safety package includes Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Automatic High Beams, and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control.
This is a huge plus for the 2018 Corolla and a clear negative for Nissan's Sentra model.

Nissan Sentra

2018 Toyota Corolla versus 2018 Nissan Sentra: Performance Comparison
The 2018 Corolla is powered by a 1.8L four-cylinder engine under the hood that delivers 132 horsepower. The 2018 Nissan Sentra also utilizes a 1.8L four cylinder option, but only produces 124 horsepower. To be fair, the Sentra gets slightly better gas mileage than the Corolla. Sentra's MPG advantage, however, isn't drastic and doesn't push it ahead of the Corolla in this category.
2018 Toyota Corolla versus 2018 Nissan Sentra: Who Wins?
The 2018 Corolla and 2018 Sentra match up well in many categories with the exception of the technology comparison. The technology discrepancy is a big factor, but alone wouldn't be enough to vault the Corolla over the Sentra. One benefit of the 2018 Corolla we didn't highlight is its legendary reputation for quality. The compact car from Toyota is known for being an incredible and reliable option. The Sentra can't come close to claiming this kind of reputation. That's why we're recommending the 2018 Corolla over the 2018 Sentra as the better overall value.
