About Mr. Shaw

Whenever you come to our dealership, you can expect dedicated customer service and the pursuit of high quality in every aspect in our business, and commitment to quality all starts with the owner, Mike Shaw. Mr. Shaw was born and raised here in South Texas, where he graduated from Weslaco High School and later Texas A&M University. In college, he earned a degree in business management, which along with his adaptability and resilience, would serve him well in his career in the automotive industry.

Mike Shaw served in Vietnam as an officer in the United States Army, and he honed his dedication and resolve in service of his country. When he came home, these qualities reinforced his work ethic, and he entered the automotive industry with a love of cars and a drive for customer service and high standards. Mike Shaw acquired a Chevrolet/Buick/Saab dealership in Denver in the mid-1990s, and he soon grew that investment into a family of 10 dealerships across the country.

The Mike Shaw Automotive Group

Following years of success at these dealerships, Shaw chose to focus his efforts on two South Texas dealerships and sold most of the businesses in his automotive group. The two dealerships that Shaw chose to focus on were Mike Shaw Kia and Mike Shaw Toyota here in Corpus Christi. These businesses now employ more than 500 automotive experts - including two generations of the Shaw family. Mike Shaw's efforts have been recognized with various accolades and honors over the years, and he was named TIME Magazine Dealer of the Year in 2012. Committed to Corpus Christi

Cars aren't Mike Shaw's only passion. He also loves his community, and he has participated in a variety of philanthropic causes with his wife, Nancy. Along with the Shaw family and dealership teams, he has provided generous work, time, and resources to serving the people of Corpus Christi. To Mike Shaw, the dealerships aren't just businesses - they're a part of the community, made up of friends, family members, and neighbors. The community has also thanked Shaw for his efforts with recognitions like his induction into the Latino Leadership Institute Hall of Fame to honor his service to the South Texas Latino community.
